The Master of Science in Cybersecurity requires completion of 32 semester hours of coursework. Designed for working professionals and practitioners, the program concludes with a hands-on residential capstone experience rather than a traditional thesis.
During the capstone, students work in teams to apply what they have learned throughout the program to secure a real-world computer network. Teams design and implement defense strategies, protect systems and facilities, and respond to realistic security challenges.
Following the exercise, students demonstrate their knowledge through discussions, presentations, and written reports that include risk assessments, security audits, and organizational security policies and plans. This practical experience ensures graduates leave with both technical expertise and the confidence to lead in today’s cybersecurity field.
