Graduate Assistantships in Cybersecurity

The M.S. in Cybersecurity program at Eastern Illinois University offers a limited number of graduate assistantships to qualified and competitive applicants. These positions provide valuable professional experience while supporting students financially during their graduate studies.

Graduate assistants are expected to serve in their role for at least one academic year, with many appointments continuing for up to two years while students complete the program.

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be fully admitted to the M.S. in Cybersecurity program
  • Hold at least one of the following industry certifications
    • CCNA (Cisco)
    • CompTIA Security+
    • CISSP (ISC2)
    • CEH (EC-Council)
    • Applicants without these certifications may be considered if they have equivalent or relevant professional experience
  • Successfully complete an oral exam (30 to 40 minutes) with a score of 75% or higher, administered by program faculty or the coordinator

Additional certifications and experience may strengthen an applicant’s competitiveness.
