Overview

EIU’s journalism majors develop knowledge of journalism and transferable skills applicable to many fields. Through hands-on coursework, campus media, and internships, students develop the reporting, interviewing, writing, and multimedia skills essential in journalism yet valued in many fields. Through small classes, dedicated faculty, and opportunities to produce and disseminate the work, EIU Journalism students graduate with the experience, confidence, and connections necessary to launch a successful career.

Completion time: 48 hours for the major

Computer Requirements:

Journalism majors can check out any video or photo equipment they need directly from the School of Communication, Journalism & Theatre. Majors also have access to our computer labs during open lab hours throughout the week.
