The Graduate School Research and Creative Activity Grant aims to offer financial backing for exceptional graduate research or creative projects. Projects that facilitate collaboration between graduate students and external businesses, industries, or educational agencies, fostering the enhancement and generation of innovative ideas, are particularly noteworthy.

SUBMISSION REVIEW

Your submission should contain the following:
ABSTRACT
Abstract of the project that does not exceed one-half page or approximately 150 words.
ESSAY
Provide a maximum two page essay discussing your research/creative activity which clearly specifies the following: *the hypothesis being tested or the creative need being fulfilled; *an explanation of the significance of the project; *a discussion of the novelty of the project; (How does it differ from what has already been done?) *sufficient details to verify the feasibility of the project; *description of plans to disseminate research results in peer-reviewed outlets or the potential communities impacted by the creative activity; *the benefit to the partner agency, and what contribution the partner agency will make to the project. (If applicable.)
BUDGET
Provide an itemized, one-page budget summary of the project CLEARLY specifying how the grant money will be used. See the following example: ACCEPTABLE: 3 fishing nets (@ $30.00/ea): $90.00 2 pounds fish jaw tags size 3 to 16 (@ $37.00/ea): $74.00 TOTAL AMOUNT REQUESTED: $ 164.00 NOT ACCEPTABLE: Equipment needed to sample fish population in Lake Charleston. Total $164.00 NOTE: Personal compensation for time spent completing the research or creative activity MAY NOT be included in the budget request.
LETTER OF SUPPORT-
FACULTY MENTOR
Letter of Support from faculty mentor should describe: *the significance of the research or creative activity, *the novelty of the project by noting how this project differs from previous years' submissions, *the plans to disseminate research results in a peer-reviewed outlet or, for creative activities, the impact it will have on the individuals and/or communities.

Letter of support from the partner agency should verify support for the project and how the project will benefit the agency.
